1 v' Led by Co-captains Ronnie Hull and Sr. Aye Denny Hayworth, and well- coached by Mr. Lambert, the Burrobabes held their own in league competition. The outstanding hitting of power men Gary Garafalo and Paul Cohen supported an otherwise green J.V. team. The bulk of the team was made up of some very promising ninth-graders. They were Jim Manzulo, Jerry Heinemann, Jimmy Lunetta, and Ronnie Becker. First base was equally shared by Doug Lindberg and Jerry Fry. Handling the catching chores was Ronnie Hull, and Vince Dehl held down at third base. The J.V.s, while not turning out a championship team, accomplished their purpose of making and developing of future Varsity greats. These are the boys who will continue to uphold Wilson's proud Baseball tradition. '3' 'X .uvwg .Q , X Coach Lambert instructs some of his players on the fine points of the game. All-Northern Rich Riding, Rich Montague, Blay'ne Ferguson, Denny Lunetta, and .lim Fry. Mike Scurto was the most versatile player to grace Wilson in a long time. He sacrificed personal acclaim as catcher to help the team as its first line pitcher. He was the first-string catcher and best hitter. Rich Montague was another big-gun. His timely hitting and smooth fielding contributed greatly to the team's success. To all this ability add the constant hitting and field- ing by such other stars as Denny Lunetta, and rookie Rich Zubiate, and the clutch playing of Hank Vega who was brought up from the B's along with Mitch Dimkitch, young star of the future. Coach Cuccia instructs co-captains Danny Lunnetta and Richard Montague. rt' 4' 'D 'Q 9 ww

TENNIS TEAM--ROW I: Mr. Naslund, Bill I-. Smith, Ralph Garcia, Robert Parker, Frank Sherwood, Tetsu Tanimoto. ROW 2: Allan Markowitz, Kenii Tanimoto, Andy Honig, Richard Crowell, Hank Brownstein, Luis Zemel. ev' A VETERAN TENNIS TEAM led by seven lettermen stroked its way to a second consecutive league championship. With good depth and balance, this was without a doubt one of Wilson's strongest all-around organizations ever to hit the hard courts of Muleville. The top honors of this outstanding collection of players were shared by Ralph Garcia, Wayne Martin, Bob Parker and Bill Smith. These of the first line were backed by a group of less experienced team members who improved rapidly and contributed greatly to the team's success. As in i955 Mr. Naslund again coached our Mules to a Northern League crown. This entire group of racquet-eers is expected back for 1957, so we can expect great things again next year from this fine team. 4. 4, TENNIS Wilson ..... .... 6 Wilson ..... ..,. 4 Wilson ..... .... 6 Wilson ,.... cs.. 2 Wilson ..... .... 6 Wilson ..... .... 6 Wilson ,.... ,s.. 7 Wilson ..... .... 7 Wilson ..... .... 6 VARSITY TENNIS LETTERMEN-ROW I: cia, Mr. Naslund, Andy Honig, ROW 'zfx i i -l., TOP OF A SMASHING SERVE in a doubles match.A Frank Sherwood, Robert Parker.
