MEM THIS YEAR'S VARSITY was a team to be proud of down to the final gun, They played every game like champions, but fell short of this honor by their final defeat at the hands of league champions Belmont, 60-57. Their fine play and their will to win has brought further credit to Wilson High School. This year's co-captains, all-league Jim Garcia and Rich Montague, spark-plugged your varsity to provide many thrills and much pleasure for you. N Richard Montague and Jim Garcia, co-captains, learn the fine points ol the game from Coach Naslund.

MMM UNDER THE HANDS OF COACH IVENER, the Cee and Dee Teams both ended up with a 5-5 record. WITH THIS AGAINST THEM, they entered their first game against Franklin and won it. The leading scor- er was Tom Tanimoto, but Gordon Fisher led the team in shooting percentages. Besides Tanimoto and Fisher, Wayne Cassety, Gary Cito and Ralph Breitler played good ball all season long. Coach Ivener has developed these teams for the coming Varsity teams. The two left handers, Jim Shaw and Gordon Fisher, both ninth graders, look like the best prospects for future years. The Cee's were led by .lim Shaw, who was the leading scorer and also had the best shoot- ing percentage. The Cee team played good ball all year, having been badly beaten in only one game. Most all of the games were very close until the last minutes with the game being decided in that time. Most of the rebounding was handled by Manuel Nitzberg, Mike Sandahl, Howard Bloom and Ray lang, which rounded out this well balanced team. The Dee team also ended the season with a 5-5 record, but had the disadvantage of having no practice games.
