C .ft ef N An exciting speech by a Swedish exchange student studying at Occidental College was one of the many highlights of the Senior Scholarship Society's winter semester. The event-filled semester ended with the luncheon honoring Sealbearers Phyllis Weishar, Dave Phillips, Sid Siegal, Larry Kraus, Merv Harris, Mike Mend, and Bernard Ginsburg. Mrs. Nigg was the organization's patient and guiding sponsor for both winter and summer semesters. Wilson's winning Cotton Couple for Cotton Day this year were Bill Jones and lrene Rodriquez. This activity was sponsored by the Girls' League A The Student Body takes a serious attitude when voting for Student Government officers A The cabinet-sponsored Christmas formal dance was fun for everyone. Health Representatives from the various homerooms promoted interest in good health by publicizing the importance of diet and the evils of not enough sleep to a clear complexion and good teeth. The commis- sion, under Mrs. Irvine, sponsor, and Eunice Agulian and Florence Mogami, winter and summer commissioners, conducted the Smile Week contest and a cafeterio poster cam- paign for better diet. The annual California Scholarship Federation convention at U.C.L.A. opened the path to many guided tours at the university and acquainted Wilson scholars with those from all over the state. Interesting guest speakers gave profound and timely talks to the knowledge-hungry pupils. An honor plaque system was inagurated by the summer officers' board with Bill Jones, as president.
