The B-7 Mother-Daughter Party with its St. Valentine's Day theme was the first activity of the Girls League. Selecting the top Girls of the Grade, and the unusual decorations and plans for the Woman's World backwards dance were pleasant chores of the league. On Cotton Day May 6, Irene Rodriguez and Bill Jones were crowned the Cotton Couple, Eileen Haddad and Bob Smitson were named Miss and Mr. Cotton. The Girls League ended its busy year with the sponsorship of its installation assembly and luncheon. An auxiliary of the Girls'League is the active organization, the Girls' League Commission. The G.L.C., composed of outstanding 9th and I0th grade girls, furnished monitors for the doors and buildings during brunch and lunch. Darlene Cravea and Shauna Jalowitz, presidents, with Mrs. Giersbach, their spon- sor, rewarded the girls with lovely buffet luncheons featuring beautiful table decor- ations. Outstanding girls of the homerooms are invited to be members of Edells, an organi- zation connected with the Girls' League.
