3 To be chosen Ephebian is one of the great honors of a life- time. Nancy, Fran, Neil, and Bill were given this vote of confidence by the faculty be- cause of their outstanding character, service to the school and community, and scholarship. Setting records in scholarship, citizenship, and service, the class lived up to its symbolic name, the Vanguards, always in front. Not only having more members than any other class but also more Sealbearers, the Vanguards thus prove that their brains are in tip-top shape. Brawn and talent have also been provided this class in abundance, as is evidenced by their many star athletes and leaders. f VANGUARD OFFICERS-Leading the Van- guards through an activity-packed last semester were: President Richard .Iarrard Kcenterl, Boys' Vice-President Bill Hamlin Uop rightj, Girls' Vice-President Betty Black- well Crightl, Secretary Babette Neustatter Cleftl, and Treasurer Kenneth Lucas ltop leftl.
