REO BEAN All of these S 46 men were l1ne men the part of the football team that does the work cmd rece1ves no glory but that s the kmd of men they are stout rugged smart They made our l1ne of scrlmmage xmpregnable 1945 Thrs year marked a never to be forgotten spot 1n W11son grtdlron h1story Such scores as these hlled the headlmes Wllson 37 Marshall 12 W1lson 40- Eagle Rock U Wrlson 41 Belmont 6 Losmg only once on a fluke to Franklm tn the closmg mtnutes of play Wrlson was rated as one of the most powerful teams 1n the clty The 1945 1uggernaut rolled through all thelr opponents Wllh record breaktng v1c tousness Th1s was the hrst Wtlson team to beat Lmcoln on the1r home held also the lnghest sconng team 1n Wllsons h1story When the all star selectlons were made Bob Levtn was chosen on the All North ern and All Crty t1rst teams as end Ray Meek tackle was chosen on the All North ern League team Homer Sell was chosen on the All Northern Second Team as guard Both Ray and Bob were placed on the Al1T1me W1lson team by Coach Kelley Drck tmonsterl Sands center left a captaxncy on the B team to play on the VGfS11Y eleven l-le loaned h1s 140 pounds of muscle to our squad D1ck was a hard h1tt1ng smart oflenswe and detensrve center Pete CRoarl Brogan light but scrappy tackle sent many an opponent smashmg to the turf Reo Bean also hght but deadly eftectrve kept up hms s1de of the l1ne as tackle Carl Mrller regular guard last and smart left no holes ungapped tn the center of the l1ne Ray Meek tackle was a bone breakrng blocker and tackle supreme Bob Levtn end was a t1reless player a good otlenslve and delensrve blocker and excellent rece1ver Homer Sell guard and co capta1n d1d not have a chance to show hls best thls season because of 1n1ur1es PETE BROGAN BOB LEVIN RAY MEEK CARL MILLER r ....
