How erroneous and nearly disastrous this attitude has been for America has been dramatized by recent triumphs of Soviet Russia in her firsts in space travel and her tremendous technical advances. These triumphs of a foreign power have served to spur America forward in the study of mathematics and sciences. Woodrow Wilson is doing her part in requiring two years of math and one of science for graduation. Solving a math problem not only gives one the satisfaction of knowing it can be done, but it also aids one in solving everyday problems.
