David “Poochie Smith as Little Red Wildcat is making uncomplimentary remarks about the big mouth of the tea-sipping Wolf, Arnold Marks. On the “Getting Acquainted” assembly, Gina Marriot and Rosemary Duggan are . . . getting acquainted. STANDING ROOM ONLY FOR LATE COMERS TO ASSEMBLY And then Don Hosey started a-singing this hen- aria . . . Harriet Green drawls out the story of some operatic characters with high roofs to their mouths. The beginning of the evolution of proposals is protrayed on assembly as Pinky Skinner and John Logan act out the cave-man technique, while Stage hand Brad Graves watches from the side.

WACO RECEIVES ENTHUSIASTIC WILDCATS An out of town football game, and 17 busloads of spirited Wildcat fans total one good time. Waco was rated fourth in the state, hut the Wildcats didn't give it a second thought. They went to Waco determined to show the highly touted Tigers some competition. This they did not only on the gridiron, hut also in the stands. The Woodrow eleven, rated a four-touchdown underdog, held the Waco-ans to 10-0 score. Many said the Wildcat crowd in the stands outnumbered the Tiger fans by a large margin. That wasn’t the only place the Wildcats showed spirit, either. They had a rollicking time on the buses! Excited Wildcat fans wave goodbye as they leave for a “right jolly” time in Waco. This is at a football game? Before the Waco game, the hand and drill team practiced on the field of the Waco stadium. Tuckered-out Wildcats! Carol Griffin and Susan Kuhland are fast asleep returning from the game, hut Ruth Sanders is still talking, to everyone’s dismay.

MUSIC, PEP RALLIES, AND VARIETY OMINATE ASSEMBLIES “Red socks, grey sock , hobnail shoes! Cheerleaders Dean Hosier. Jeanne McLain. Larry DeHay. Camille Pratl. and Danny Hampel lead the student body in spirited yells • n pep assemblies. “Tem-ta-a-shun. you were temptation. ing Judy Englemann and Su anne Kadane on the Valentine Assembly. Crowded assemblies don't seem to lessen enjoyment! These boys in the orchestra pit watch the show from down under.” A medieval proposal by Robert Hughcn sends Lady Barbara Evans into a fluster on the instructive assembly presentation on “History of Proposals.
