Indispensable parts of a Dallas October are these familiar reminders of the State Fair of Texas. Although the Fair's autumn exposition lasts only two weeks, its modern buildings and landscaped grounds serve the city as centers of culture and recreation throughout the year. To the high school student the Fair's wide variety of activities holds a unique appeal. Tying in with his studies are the Museum of Fine Arts and the Hall of State; typical of his favorite pastimes are games in the Cotton Bowl, programs in Fair Park Auditorium, and thrills along the Midway. Most of all, the growth of the Fair every year parallels the student's ever-widening horizon of new thoughts and ideas. Because the State Fair is such a vital part of life in Dallas, the Staff has chosen it to help portray the various phases of life at Woodrow Wilson during the past year. IV. ATHLETICS . . Now un dergoing treatment at Georgia Warm Springs Foundation, Margaret had planned to graduate with this class until the summer of 1950, when she contracted the disease. As she was not in school this year, her picture could not be placed in its regular position in the classes section. But because she belongs there as much as any other senior, the staff fondly dedicates this page To Margaret.
