Pa rent-Teacher Association President's Message Graduation from High School is perhaps the happiest experience of your life. It is also a momen- tous occasion marking truly a commencement. For now you are beginning to assume the responsibilities of your own future welfare, you are starting out upon your own. You are to be the master of yourself. Be a wise master-a firm one. Discipline yourself, remembering that though you may move away from disagreeable companions, you must live with yourself always. Abhor that which is evil, cleave to that which is good. Develop wholesome habits, good personality, and Christian attitude. Then success and happiness will follow naturally. Give the Bible a place in your life. From its pages you will derive inspiration, comfort, and help to meet all the perplexities of life. Begin your plan of life now. You have but one to live. GUARD it from dishonor, GUIDE it toward noble achievements, LIVE it to bring contentment to yourself, comfort to your fellow man, re- flected credit and joy to your parents and teachers, and honor to your community. Woodrow Wilson Dads' Club President's Message It is indeed a pleasure to again greet you on behalf of the Dads Club. As we strive to give you some helpful thought, we are reminded of a revealing work in the Book of Daniel, which we commend to all y'oung people. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself. In this single line we find the explanation of an amazing career. Daniel was able to subject himself to the discipline of a dominating purpose. In nothing, probably, is the whole world failing more pathetically today than in this very matter- self discipline. We seem to seek with every power at our command, to escape reality. Such an attitude cannot be for the ultimate common good. The higher we rise in the scale of responsibility, the greater are the disciplines to which we must subiect ourselves. The greater the load we carry, the more necessary it is for us to work under com- pulsions. Happy is the individual who has learned this lesson, and who has inaugurated his own dis- ciplines, who has set a goal and is holding himself to it with steady purpose and word impulse under the domination of one great obiective. Someone has said when you have learned to co-operate with the inevitable, then you have found the secret of livfng without friction. He who rules his own life, is greater than one who rules a city. - Faithfully yours, LLOYD M. CAMPBELL. Lloyd M. Campbell Robert L. Akins . Neil C. Crutchfield Robert H. Lindop W. B. Landress .
