To G. I.. ASHBURIXI When graduating from Woodrow Wilson High School, we, the June, 1938 and january, 1939 classes, wish to express, collectively and in- dividually, our gratitude to our Principal, G. L. Ashburn, who has been our friendly leader dur- ing our high school course. Those of us who have spent four years here remember gratefully how Mr. Ashburn helped us when we were bewildered freshmen, those of us who have been at Woodrow for a shorter time recall with equal thankfulness how welcome our principal made us feel and how rapidly he enabled us to realize that we were an integral part of a great school, all remember how, in our under class days, we swelled with pride when Mr. Ashburn spoke to us in the halls. In future days we shall always recall his genial personality, his wise direction, his kindly interest, and his genuinely democratic spirit, and we hope that June '38 will not mark the end of our friendship but may be merely a mile post along its road.
