English Is Basic For All Students English classes at the Castle are designed to pro- vide students with a varied background in literature and grammar. While only three years of English are required, many seniors find it beneficial to take an additional course of college preparatory material. The study of grammar improves a student's basic knowledge of the English language. Literature, another important aspect of English, is designed to develop an appreciation for different types of literary works.
