Language art classes are some of the most important subjects offered at Woodlawn. The fact that three years of English is mandatory tells one how important lan- guage really is. The use of good English is of great importance in this day and age. Good English is necessary to express thoughts effectively with words, as well as on paper. English is the key to a more abundant and progressive life. Grammar is an essential part of the study of English. Discussions, lectures, and demonstrations are used by the teachers to help their students understand the struc- ture of sentences and the various functions of the differ- ent parts of speech.
