game! The Band is one of the most active organizations in Woodburn High School. Besides playing for the ball games, they play for May Day and Parents Day. They also present a Christmas concert and a Spring concert of good music. Under the leadership of E. Donald The members of the Band are: CLARINETS: Ruth Marie Applegate, Rochelle Plank, Darlene Greeninger, Truman Baird, Terry Kuhn, Lynne I-ligginbotham, ,Iessop they go to the state contest every spring. For the past four years it has had several members parti- cipating in Music In May held at Forest Grove. The students are senior mem- ? bers of Woodburn High Schoolis newest club, the Nellie Muir Chapter ' of the Future Teachers of America. This club was organized January of 1956 and those pictured above are the charter members. The purpose of the club is to arouse the int- if p 2 erest of students in the teaching profession and after joining the club in i' helping them decide what they want to teach and on what grade level. :L The cadet teaching is a program set up to give them a birds-eye view B of teacher's problems and help them discover the advantages and dis- f' i ' .t advantages of being a teacher.
