Arthur Nelson Pr esident jack Wells Pat Houseweart Vice- President Secretary enio - Mr. Keller Treasurer Advisor On September 23, 1946, eighty-eight Freshmen enrolled in Woodburn High School capable of meetin 8 the responsibilities of the new challenge. The officers elected to presidentg Frank Vistica, secretaryg Priscilla Asper, treasurerg Hazel Hermanson, student council repre- sentative: Dean Seaton and Doris Wa mir . ' t 1 ' ' ' eth Thompson. The year was highlighted with a Senior-Rook reception, a Freshmen skate. and a class picnic It was a bright day in September. when sixty-four sunny Sophomores enthusiastically entered old- W.H.S. The election resulted in the following: Arthur Nelson. president: Jeannette Hove, vice-president' Priscilla Asper, secretaryg Victoria Moran. treasurer: Frances Mills and Dean Seaton, student council representatives. Inter-class rivalry chairmen were Doris Pillsbury and Sandford Budeau. Mrs. Haas and Miss Hopkins were the class advisors. preside were as follows: Stanley Vistica, presidentg Lois Granner, vice- y e in erc ass rivalry chairmen. The class advisor was Mr. Kenn- This was an eventful year, which included an all-school skate at Newberg and ended with the annual class picnic at Lake Oswego. The next fall, this active group of Juniors came back to again take over the school. The officers elected this year were Ralph Undseth. president: Merle Henn, vice-president: Carol Taylor. secretarygand Frances Mills, treasurer. The class was under the able leadership of Miss Hopkins. This proved to be an active and successful year for the juniors The play which was sponsored b . , y the class, was Arsenic and Old Lace . A combination Banquet and Prom. with a central theme of Star- d .. . . . . ust . was given in honor of the Seniors on the evening of May Z0. The year ended with the traditional class picnic. On September 19. 1949. sixty-two Seniors, lor the fourth time entered the doors of Woodburn Hi h I 8 School. These Seniors were here to make their last mark in high school before meeting the challenge of fulfilling their life ambitions. The class officers were Arthur Nelson, presidentp jack Wells. rice-presidentg Patricia Houseweart, Secretary: Ersel Christopherson, treasurer: Eldon Erb, student council representative. Mr. Keller was the class advisor. The Seniors sponsored a play, Ladies in Retirement . and had their final high school picnic in the spring. Baccalaureate Service was held on May 28, and Commencement on june Z. Remembering the challenge of their first year. on the evening of june 2, fifty-nine graduates with diplomas in hand, walked out of the doors of Woodburn Hi h S h l g c oo waiting to meet the greatest challenge of all--the fulfillment of life dreams.
