BOOSTER CLUB The purpose of this club is to arouse school spirit and en- thusiasm, and to help promote the high standard of Woodburn High School. The first Booster Club was organized in 1927. The club consists of 12 to 16 girls chosen by the out going members. The girls are chosen for their pep, grades, and general good personality. It is the Booster Club's duty to give stunts to inspire en- thusiasm for the games. They also sell candy, pop, and ice-cream at the games. The Booster outfits this year consisted of navy blue pleated skirts, with white blouses, blue sweaters, and navy blue campus rollers. The club had an enjoyable year. They had several parties and at the end of the year they went to the coast for a week-end. The incoming Boosters gave them a picnic. The officers for the year were: president, Laurine Jonesg chief booster, Elsie Yoderg secretary-treasurer, Gladys Fletcher.

TORCH HONOR SOCIETY Twenty-nine members composed the beginning Woodburn High Torch Honor Society, organized March 4, 1927. Membership was then given according to points awarded in scholastic, athletic,aand social office holdings, but now is given on scholastic standing only. The two classes of members belonging to this society are the regulars and the associates. An associate member is anyone having an average of a two or better in his subjects. Regular members are those who have been as- sociate members for three or more consecutive periods. The gold Torch Honor pin is awarded to anyone averaging a two or better for twelve successive periods, or having an average of 2.2 or better for eighteen periods. When such requirements are met, the student receives this honored award.
