Ki E, SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1938, ninety-one peppy freshmen enrolled in the Woodburn High School student body. They were put under the watchful eye of two capable advisors, Miss Lotz and Miss Anderson. The fol- lowing pupils were elected to offices: Ed Crosby, president, Pat Smith, vice-president, Eugene Peltz, secretary, Jack Sorenson, trea- surer, and Joseph Long, inter-class rivalry chairman. Now as sophomores, they are still the largest class in school, having an enrollment of seventy-eight students. To head this year's activities they elected Marlin Hammon, president, Charles Filbin, vice-president, Barbara Brown, secretary, Millicent Evenden and Bill Erwert, interclass rivalry chairmen. Mrs. Edmundson and Mr.Thompson were appointed as advisors. Two sophomore girls, Maxine Richmond and Helen Yoder were elected song queens for the school year, the class also sponsored a student body skate, which proved quite successful. The class is justly proud of their three lettermeng namely, Gerald Smith, Eugene Peltz, and Leston Dunton. The material for capturing many honors seems to rest in their powerg therefore, the student body is looking forward to a prominent senior class in the year of 1941-1942.
