Members of the Board of Trustees are appointed at the South Carolina Conference of the Methodist Church which is held in the fall of each year. The trustees meet at the school once each month to discuss the necessary business of the college. The Board began the year under the capable leadership of Mr. Hugo S. Sims, Sr. Af- ter Mr. Sims ' death in November, Mr. Robert M. Carlisle, Spartanburg attorney, was elected chairman. One of the main tasks of the Board has been the selection of a new president to succeed Dr. Walter K. Greene who resigned the presidency in the summer of 1951. BOARD OF TRUSTEES 21
