A plane? Superman? N011 It's no one else but Joan Heller in her get atomic speedmobile Chevie practicing for the auto race Louie reports that John Hayes has a very thriving job He is head undertaker of a mortuary. We have proof for how busy he ls, as every night he comes home 'dead on his feet' II Lou e picked up a newspaper and the headlines read Naval Academy Eliminates Pilger youth' His name just happened to be Leland Jones It seems as though was caught helping students with their tests For punishment he is to be sent to China as a private tea tester Louie was going down the road west of Pilger and farm as Mrs Ed Rood well, you guessed it a bunch feet Amidst the steam of the kitchen, and the roar enjoying herself Married life seems to be agreeLlg bit heavier 'nan when she was seen 20 years ago. while Ruth was in her kitchen, Louie found Eddie ing john, on one of his five farms. His two sets of saw the former Ruth K on a of little Roods under her of ukidsn, she seemed to be with her, as she is quite a R. supervising a corn stack- bcy twins were stacking it, while his four girls were busy cutting it with slckles. lIt still looks like Eddie is having trouble with his modern problems'D Louie found it hard, but he finally got in touch with Jim Petersen. It seems as though Jim turned into a ve scientific man. Jim plans to take a space ship to the moon. He says he hopes E0 find more agreeable women and nbetter living conditionsn. Louie reports that a fella named Ronie Mcwanigal struck it rich. Ronie ls 81 inventor ol gadgets which decrease work. 5 F' .ary 1 WM After repairing, refueling, and cleaning up the Steamer during the summer months, we now Iere ready for our next voyage his year we started with 2h hearty seamen, all eager Juniors Bob Huennekens came from Randolph and John Hayes from Battle Creek The Officirs for this voyage were President Vice Pres Secretary Treasurer Wdward Rood lst Semester John Swartz and Va Lera Splittgerber 2nd John Swartz lst semester Ronie McMan1gal 2nd Donna Heermann lst semester Ruth Kehres 2nd Carol Renn1ck l st semester Gloria Schulg For this years homecoming ceremony we choose Edward Rood and DonnaHeermann as the Junior attendants Of course, there are always a group of actorstlsuch a class as ours, so we gave a Class Play during the first semester The ame of the play was NONE TOO MANYN It was presented before a large crowd on both nights At the beginning of the 2nd semester seilul shipmates trans ferred to other ships Va Lera Splittgerber moved to Columbus Leland Jones went to Loveland, Colorado in January but came back on board about the lst of April Betty Asch quit school at the beginning of the semester As we are getting nearer and nearer to our final destination UGraduation' the Steamer seems to gather speed with every day. Before we realized it we had docked at the Senior Pier and we had our school picnic over. It was held in Norfolk. We are now on the gigh Seas which lead directly and quickly to graduation. There are I5 of us still attempting to weather the storm. Gloria Schultz'hunferred to Wisner H1gh,Caro1 Rennick married Marvin Brummond and Bob Huennekens moved to Illinois. Our Class Officers for the final cruise are: Vice Pres --Edward Rood Secretary --Donna Chleboun President--Leland Jones r---Ronie McManiga1 Treasure Now that we are the old hands on the ship we get to initiate the new Freshies. This novel event took place on the second Fri- day of this years voyage. C This year is going to be the most exciting, mrs:-eating and the fastest year spent on the grand old Steamer l953 .
