Bound for Graduation via rreshman, Sophmore, Junior and Senior he bought our passports when we were graduated from the eighth gra e all as green as the sea itself Maxy of us were seasick and lost or the first couple of weeks but as we got into the 666441 ZIMQIZQ W T E P 9 That first year there was 22 of us and vewere swing and sway o the old boat we decided that it was more fun than the dry grade school back on shore After we were gust beginning to get along fairly well the old hands, who were aoout to retire at the end of the year, decided o give us an initlation Of course when we Iirst heard aoout this we were all scared stiff and about ready to gire up and jumo overboard But we all stuck with the boat and initiation wasn't half as bad as we expected Some of us acqulred officer ratings They were as fol lows President Arlyn Asch lst semester Donna Heermann lst and 2nd seme ters Ca.ol Rennick lst semester Jim Peterson lst semester Vice Pres Sec Tres News Dept President Carol Dye 2nd semester Gloria Schulz 2nd senester James Jones 2nd semester Sec Tres News Re t The rest of the school year went smoothly and w all anc hored at the grand city of Sophmore This meant that1a were a fourth of the way through our voyage. Immediatly after anchoring at Sophmore we had a icnic for all the hands Dead Timber by Fremont when we shoved off from Sophmore we still had 22 on deck Louis Kelly moved to Herman but we gained Leland Jones Irom Loveland, Colorado The new officers were President Ronie NcManigal lst semester Joan Heller lst semester Leland Jones lst semester Vice Pres Sec Tres President Carol Dye 2nd selester Ca ol Rennick 2nd semester Vice Pres Secretary James Jones 2nd semester Treasure Donna Faye Heermann 2nd semester This year we had a homecoming ceremony during tne Stanton and P11 er basketball ame. The K1 and Queen were picked 8 8 U8 from the Senior Class and the attendants were chosen from each class Our attendl ts were Ruth Kehres and Leland Jones having acquired all the knowledge that was expected of us for the two years on board the Steamer, we all anchored at the JUNIOR dock in order to leave off the old hands and gain more Freshman we couldn't let the Seniors leave, however, without a celebration so we all had apicnic at Tha ha su ka Park in Korfolk That evening we all went to a movie at the 'Drive In Theatre .
