Senators included: John Glenn, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Alan Cranston, Claiborne Pell. Jesse Helms, Conrad Burns. Christopher J, Dodd, Dave Durenberger, John Heinz, John F. Kerry, Her- bert Kohn, Carl Levin, Paul S. Sarbanes, and Alan K. Simpson. Senators were briefed on the capabilities ot the battleship. Later in the day the senators had a chance to have lunch with their constituents and were treated to a battleship gunfire demonstration. On February 19, the ship was visited by former Secretary ol the Navy and current Virginia Senator John Warner. Warner, a staunch supporter ot the battleships came to the gulf to see tor himselt how the battleships were proving their mettle in combat. if 'N -in A
