On March 28, nearly eight months alter WlS- CONSIN departed Norfolk. the shio returned to A hero's welcome at the worlds largest naval base. Returning victorious from her participation in Gperation Desert Storm. the shio arrived to Pier 5. to the delight of the thousands ot friends and relatives gathered to welcome home their WIS- CONSIN sailors. As the ship inched in to her oerthing. WIS- CONSIN sailors scanned the crowd of thousands looking for a familiar face or a homemade sign bearing their name. From the pier, friends and families looked for their loved one. dressed in a uniform identical to the 1.500 other crewr-nen on board. Eventually all were reunited and the celebra- tion due to seeing each other for the first time in eight months began. i ml.
