After many hours of working parties, ammunition handling, and the usual deck and mount work, the division, under new leadership, prepared for the Far Eastern Cruise. By this time bidding farewell to Pier No. 7, NOD, was old stuff to the old-timers. From Norfolk to Panama and throu Long Beach, Pearl Harbor, and finally Japan, the Seventh Division was at all times eager and willin g to do their share on board, and then to show all others the way to do the town. They were singularly successful in both phases.
