S. Navy, when last heard from was recovering from an attack of pneumonia contracted soon after 'lr ADAM UMHOLTZ, another Navy lad, was one of the most energetic members of the I'-742 football team. Lately he attended Vocational School and from there he went into the Navy early in I943. ir DONNY KESSLER has been back to see us several times since he ioined the Navy. Donny left before the end of our football season and his loss was noticed by everyone. arriving at Baltimore, ir BUDDY ANDERSON has also joined the ranks of our fighting Navy Buddy, his real name is Albert, left us for Vocational School and after completing his course he also traded his civies for the uniform of a gob. ir With the Navy somewhere, is diminutive PHILIP ORR, who left before the end of the football season. Philip came back to referee a portion of the Junior-Senior football game. He played in the backfield for the ir ELMER BUDDY HARRIS joined the Navy early in the fall of the current school term. Elmer was the quiet type but when he started out to do a thing he came through with flying colors. 'Ir In the Navy we also find HOUSTON WHITE, who helped the Seniors defeat the Juniors in the Junior-Senior football game. He was actively ir DAVID CHAPMAN went to the Navy along with most of the other boys in service from ,Winter Park High. Dave was one of the first string guards on the football team, a hard-digging boy. ir Uncle Sam's breath came sort of strong to one FRANK HOUSER who was inducted into the Army of the United States. It seems that every annual should have a column about the seniors school careers curricular and otherwi e so we want to ask you Do you ren ember That frst eventful day when we moved into the high chool and proceeded to take po ession And that budding romance between Jean Kin ey and Jimmy Tuttle which we watched a trfle scandalized and more than a but envious And Babs Ames gave that house party at Daytona Later that same year Bunny McDewell and Mary Nell Goldman loined our ranks Those trips to the skating rink Saturday afternoons The Ness McDewell combi nation which became apparent and has continued right on down to the present Student Council was begun Elizabeth Chidester and Elmer Harris were awarded the citizen hip honors for he year Ruth Pounds dancing class and the privilege of using the family car for the first time Our sophomore year which was a grand whirl socially The chool dances becoming better as time rolled on That marvelous Christmas vacation with a party every night ending with a picnic on Woo Island and everyone came down with flu next week Those annual dances that David and Phil who is now at Citadel gave every Chri tmas nigh' in Veraerys screened patio The Sea Scout parties down at Emerys especially the one where alumnus Ceorge Papa Dionne Gross had four dates The Entre Nous Christmas dance at the XNomans Club That extraordinary dance when we removed gas from variou and sundry cars mostly belonging to the chapercns and the swell time we had going to Sanlando during intermission The excitement during clas es when the ling shot epidemic was on ana ine huge spider brought to earth in alaebra period by one dead shot The marvelous time grades proved we hadnt fooled him a bit That year in Glee Club when a quartet of especially talented 'P girl acquired the knack of singing off key regardless of Miss Lancasters despair Doris Miller blew in from Pennsylvania to stay awhile That Tri Hi Y house party at Daytona Beach and the sy tem with which o few gay souls operated the pan of water over the steos for late come s That midnight parade coqducted with the idea of embarras ing the lucky ones with dates and the Demolays who tried to remain young by taying pickled lVltSs Craig counting heads at midnight lest any be lost or stolen by the local wolves Gaspanlla Day in Tampa when a bunch iourneyed down to Tampa in Tuttle s station wagon and how they ran through the crowds dodged around corners and across lots to cheer our band every few blocks Thoe gate crashers at Becky Hills dance Ah me' The bull se sions in the lournalism room with the alumnr Torchy and Bob to say nothing to the secret meetings in the boiler room Just who will blow smoke rings when WE are gone?
