Tough as it got though, the seniors had to stick it out if they wanted to graduate as the class is a state requirement. Teachers of the class this year were Mr. Griffith. Mr. Don Baker, and Mr. Bratt.

Government Can Be Interesting, This year, as last year and most of the years before, the boys and girls staters came home with the importance of parliamentary procedures imbedded in their minds. They were also made to realize the importance of total participation if government is to be successful. Frank Guzman, Charles Wilhoite, Rory Whipple, and Eddie Fritz were chosen to represent Winslow at the 35th annual Boys State held at NA(J May 30 through June 5. Guest speakers included Governor Bruce Babbitt. Sec. of State Rose Mofford. Flagstaff mayor Paul Babbitt, and John Wettah. Rita Lewis. La Rita Wilkins, and Donna Graybeal were the 1982 Girls State electees. Donna Graybeal, alternate, was a last minute fill-in when La Rita could not make it. It was held at (J of A on June 8-14. The American Legion Auxiliary sponsored the girls while the Elks. Rotary. American Legion, and Kiwanis clubs sponsored the boys. 6

Homecoming 1981 The 1981 Homecoming Pep Assembly was held on Thursday. October 15th in the gymnasium. Eddie Fritz and Priscilla Bailon were crowned as the home coming king and queen. Friday afternoon the class floats were judged. The Senior float came in first, followed closely by the juniors. All the floats were decorated around the homecoming theme Just Once . On Friday night the Bulldogs met the Window Rock Scouts. The Bulldogs stomped the Scouts with a stun ning score of 51-2.
