Staters know what it takes This year's starters know what it takes to run a government. Doug Conatser, Joe Karam, Tom Harris. and Nick Kretsedemas attended Boys State this summer from June 1-8 at NAU. Among the guest speakers were Governor Bruce Babbitt and Flagstaff Mayor Paul Babbitt. The organizations that sponsored the young men were Kiwanis, Rotary, and Elks. To get anywhere in government, you should know about parliamentary procedures, commented Joe. The two delegates that attended Girls State, which was held at U of A from June 11-18, were Martha Hernandez and Darnell Scott. They were both exposed to the different » pects of government life. Darnell -aid she had a lot of fun and learned much about government life, while on the other hand, Martha said. It was a neat experience and I'd like to do it again sometime.
