THE FIRST WHS The Wilson building, TOP, was the original high school, built with only two floors. The third floor was added in 1913 14, MIDDLE. The top floor was removed in later years after having been condemned. The Wilson Building was razed in 1975. The first high school gym was constructed in 1949-50. LEFT. WHS 50th YEAR The present Winslow High School, RIGHT, was built in 1928-29. The original top floor, as seen in the 1929 photo at BOTTOM, was destroyed in the disastrous fire on August 28. 1960, MIDDLE RIGHT. The top floor was rebuilt, MIDDLE LEFT, and the decorations around the top of the building were sacrificed.
