'77 Meteor Is Dedicated to Mr. Fritz Dahlen The annual staff chose Mr. Fritz Dahlen as the dedicatee of the '77 Meteor. Mr. Dahlen retired during spring, after 28 years of service to the Winslow Public School system. He was superintendent for the last six years. During that time, he did much to greatly improve the public schools, and in particular, the high school. Mr. Dahlen started teaching in Winslow at Roosevelt School in 1949. He was principal of the Indian dormitory, then called Emmons dormitory, for six months, when the dormitory was first built. He then filled the vacancy left by the principal of the Washington-Lincoln school. Afterwards, he became assistant superintendent under Ray Booth, and later, he moved up to superintendent. The staff wishes to recognize Mr. Dahlen for these and many other accomplishments. 4

CLASS OF '77 OFFICERS This year's senior class of '77 had a total membership of 192. The class can be considered fairly large in comparison to previous classes. The class candidate, Cynthia Wilson, won Miss Merry Christmas. The seniors were also the class voted as having the Best School Spirit. They were able to raise $1,900 to use for their various senior activities. The class kept busy all year by making paper chains, decorating trees and building floats. The class followed the new three year tradition of going to Big Surf on Ditch Day. To show how unique this year's seniors were they had turkey for their Senior Banquet. The Seniors of 1977 will certainly be remembered.
