ANNUAL KING AND QUEEN Paul Shumway was chosen Annual King for his activeness in school. He served on several committees in Student Council and in Honor Society. Paul received the Dean's Scholarship to B.Y.U., the Elk's Leadership Scholarship for $200, and the Alpha Delta Kappa Book Scholarship. He received the Bausch and Lomb Science Award, Outstanding American History Student, Outstanding American Government Student, Outstanding Physics Student, Outstanding Biology II Student, and The Shum was on the honor roll for 4 years. Paul was in six different plays during high school. Leellen MacLean was active all 4 years and has a reputation of always being there when she is needed. She helped create the W that burned the longest in our history. She was in PURE AS THE DRIVEN SNOW, and helped to make it interesting for the rest of the cast. She was on various committees for Student Council, including the intercom committee. Leellen, also known by friends as Super V, Muscar, Lou, and various other aliases, says, Stick with what you believe and don't let the crowd influence you.

The yearbook staff consisted of 9 members, with Mrs. Frances Roberts as the advisor. Lots of hard work and extra time went into producing this yearbook. '77 Meteor Is Dedicated to Mr. Fritz Dahlen The annual staff chose Mr. Fritz Dahlen as the dedicatee of the '77 Meteor. Mr. Dahlen retired during spring, after 28 years of service to the Winslow Public School system. He was superintendent for the last six years. During that time, he did much to greatly improve the public schools, and in particular, the high school. Mr. Dahlen started teaching in Winslow at Roosevelt School in 1949. He was principal of the Indian dormitory, then called Emmons dormitory, for six months, when the dormitory was first built. He then filled the vacancy left by the principal of the Washington-Lincoln school. Afterwards, he became assistant superintendent under Ray Booth, and later, he moved up to superintendent. The staff wishes to recognize Mr. Dahlen for these and many other accomplishments. 4
