JV CHEERLEADERS Junior Varsity Cheerleaders are elected by the student body of WHS the same time the Varsity Cheerleaders are elected. They must have met the same qualification as the Varsity Cheerleaders. Only four girls are elected, however, and their duties are to lead cheers and raise spirit at the JV games. The Junior Varsity Cheerleaders work hard and hope that they will eventually become Varsity Cheerleaders. With their experience and know how they have a good chance of being elected in the following year to the Varsity Cheerleader position. The four girls who served as JV Cheerleaders in 1973-74 were Kaye Hancock, Julie Chambers, Carolynn Duggins, and Darlene Hadnot. They had money making projects that helped to buy treats for the JV athletes. Varsity Cheerleaders for the year 1973-74 were Mari Faucher, Debbie Owens, Susi Keller, Cindy Kidd, Debbie Heartz, and Judy Kalisz. Leading the spectators in cheering they displayed the spirit of WHS to encourage our teams on to victories. Fun, Fun, hardwork, and tradition are what makes these girls the soul body for cheering. Selling small objects with sayings on them helped to raise money to buy treats for the athletes. Making up new cheers and getting people involved are their responsibilities. Varsity Cheerleaders are shown forming a pyramid which shows grace and beauty. Getting involved is part of the cheerleaders job as shown here during Freshmen Orientation.

FROSH CHEERLEADERS Freshmen Cheerleaders for the school year in 1973-74 were Diana Nelson, Kathy Me Laws, Jeannie Sorenson, Debbie Bumgarner. They had a great part in promoting spirit at the basketball games, football games, and especially at the pep assemblies. They attended all games played by the WHS Bulldogs and helping the crowd to become more involved in the game was their way of showing the soul they had. The Freshmen Cheerleaders are chosen in an election held by the junior high student body in the spring. They then serve throughout their freshman year in WHS. They present their cheers and a routine that they made up by themselves. From their routines, they exhibit some gymnastic feats such as tumbles, splits, and perhaps, cartwheels. Different cheerleaders are chosen every year. Freshmen Cheerleaders form a pyramid at Left. From Top To Bottom they are Kathy McLaws, Diana Nelson, Jeanne Sorenson, and Debbie Bumgarner. At Bottom the Freshmen Cheerleaders assume another formation which shows their agility and precision.
