They collected more money, won more contests, and contributed more spirit in their year of reign. The seniors accomplished many things, among these were changing of the dress code, a King and Queen of Hearts, and an Ugly Couple contest, and Baccalaureate and Graduation on the same night. Included in the many winnings of the class were the Chain contest, Miss Merry Christmas, Ugly Couple, King and Queen of Hearts, and Gym decorating. The seniors tied for second place on the Homecoming float. With all the money made by the seniors, there was quite a range of ideas used for their ditch day and senior activities for the end of the year. Mr. Griffith was our new Government and Sociology teacher. He also took over the National Honor Society. Mr. Griffith was also an active senior sponsor. The other senior sponsors were Mrs. Meikle, Mrs. Stotts, Mrs. McAuley, Mrs. Gipson, Mr, Knight, Mr. Downing, Mr. Hysong, Chairman, and Mr. Boswell. We appreciate their help in making a successful year for the class of 71 .
