I . if ln Septemher, 1951, one hundred and fifty-eight frightened and expectant sophomores entered our heloved high school. l'nder the guidance of Miss Myrtle Moore and Mr. Loy lf. Bowe, the class elected Phyllis Stewart as president, Luella Stephan, vice-president, Shirley Polley, secretary, and Eunice .johnson as treasurer. Bernard Meier and Phyllis Stewart represented the sophomores class on the Student Teacher Council. The following were, as tenth-graders, memhers of the HieNews staff: Bernard Meier, Beatrice Seekainp, Dorothea Carroll, Gertrude Hoge, Frank Berg, Antoinette Bittner, and Olive Fried. Mary Eehring won the D. A. R. essay contest. The present senior class was well represented in activities during their iunior year. In September, 1952, the junior class with an enrollment of one hundred and ninety elected their class ollicers. Albert White was chosen presidentg Bernard Meier, vice-president, Marion McCarthy, secretary, and Nlary Fehring, treasurer. Miss Louise Harris and Mr. Rohert Henry were class advisers, The iunior representatives on the Student Teacher Council were Norma Krenzke, Donald Holzinger, Gretchen Grimm and William Leonard. Marion McCarthy won the D. A. R. junior essay contest. Now, lweing a group of more serious-minded hoys and girls, the senior class of '54 sought to accomplish as much as possilwle in its last year of high school guidance. The .june senior class carried on its Business under the supervision of Miss Florence Laney and Mr. Philip Sauer. Henry Hirschfeld, president, XVilliam Leonard, vice-president: Gretchen Grimm, treasurer, and Dolores Ciseska, secretary acted capalwly as class olhcers. Thejanuary class elected the following oflicersz president, Marion Schup- pel, vice-president, Eileen Haase, treasurer, Josephine Corlisg and secretary, Luther Kressin.
