Falcons Lose Two, But Stomp Tigers Callaway, North Natchez, Hill With the spirit at its highest point and with two decisive wins behind them, the Falcons went looking for a third win and almost found it. The Falcons played a tough game but could not get that hard seven points needed to beat the Chargers. The final score was 10-16 with victory to the opponents. Senior Jeff Hinton was named the star of that game. The Homecoming game against North Natchez was one which the Falcons wanted to forget. On a wet field the Fal- cons fumbled their way to a 0-18 score. Larry Owens was named player of the week. The game everyone had been waiting for was Hill vs. Wingfield. With a 2-2 record the Falcons were desperate for a win and the spirit was overflowing. The Falcons domi- nated the game with an awesome ground attack led by Tom Gladney who was named player of the week. The score of 20-0 proved the Falcons were still hoping for a city champi- onship. Alan Saway 1211 strides ahead as he gains long yardage against new rival Jim Hill

Bobby Nolen 1781 clears the way for hard running Donnie Mitchell f30J. Season Starts With Two Viotories Provine, Lanier In the initial game of the year the Falcons went to play with the idea of Falcons Number One. This held true when the Big Blue trounced the Provine Rams, 19-12. Although all the Falcons were outstanding, Donnie Mit chell was named player of the Week. Donnie rushed for 106 yards in 17 carries. Motivated by the desire to win, the Falcons, in the sec- ond game, slaughtered the Lanier Bulldogs, 35-13. The Fal- con attack was dominant throughout the game. Roy Lind- say was named player of the Week in this game. Mark Harris f26j fights for a long gain against losing Lanier. 29
