Falcons Shine in Tournament Play Racking up a 16-game winning streak, the team won the Murrah Tournament by wins over Callaway, Murrah, and Central. They won the Rebel Classic by victories over Brandon, Forest Hill, and Central. In the Hinds County Tournament they defeated Murrah and Provine, but lost by a narrow margin of 43-41 to Forest Hill to take second place in the county.

Successful Tournament Play Provides Opportunity for State Championship Beating Provine in the first game of the South Big Eight Tournament the Falcons were overcome by a last period rally by the Brookhaven Panthers by a score of 44-412. In the consolation game that night they were beaten by Gulfport East. They came back the following week to slaughter Yazoo City by a 30 point margin in their first game in the sub-district tournament. They went on to first place in that tournament by victories over Provine and Vicksburg. The team was downed by Florence in the final game of the District 6 Tournament to take second place. Having placed in District 6 competition, the Falcons went on to the South Mississippi Tournament to grab a victory over Hattisburg in a double overtime battle. They traveled to the Coliseum looking toward the State Championship.
