Student Council Cuides School Activities Emphasizing the importance of strong represen- tation for the student body in the affairs of the school, the student council endeavored to sponsor worthwhile activities and provide a link of co- operation between the student body and the faculty, under the capable and energetic sponsorship of Mr. Dan Merritt. Council officers traveled many miles and attended numerous workshops and meet- ings to gain valuable information on Council af- fairs. The Council coordinated Homecoming and Fal- con Follies activities and supervised elections and honor points in the spring. Projects to promote school spirit, including prizes for the best deco- rated homeroom doors during football season, and the selection of the Boy- and Girl-of-the-Month ranked high on its list of accomplishments. One of its most successful undertakings was the col- lection of canned goods for the janitorial work- ers during the Christmas season. Highlighting the year was the presentation of a Talent Show to raise money for the Student Activity Fund, Char- acter Emphasis Week in December, and the Teens Against Polio drive in January. 755 52 Student Council Sponsor, MR. ational Honor ociety En enders Scholastic Achievement Consisting of Wingfield students who have' main- tained a minimum B average throughout their high school curricula, the National Honor Society experienced another eventful year. This club encouraged its members to keep their high grades consistent by endowing them with an enthusiastic attitude toward learning. Sponsor of the club for this year was Mr. Bill Caston, who per- formed an outstanding job. The National Honor Society looks forward to another year of instilling students with a more acute awareness of their responsibilities to a potentially rewarding future.
