Student Council Cuides School Activities Emphasizing the importance of strong represen- tation for the student body in the affairs of the school, the student council endeavored to sponsor worthwhile activities and provide a link of co- operation between the student body and the faculty, under the capable and energetic sponsorship of Mr. Dan Merritt. Council officers traveled many miles and attended numerous workshops and meet- ings to gain valuable information on Council af- fairs. The Council coordinated Homecoming and Fal- con Follies activities and supervised elections and honor points in the spring. Projects to promote school spirit, including prizes for the best deco- rated homeroom doors during football season, and the selection of the Boy- and Girl-of-the-Month ranked high on its list of accomplishments. One of its most successful undertakings was the col- lection of canned goods for the janitorial work- ers during the Christmas season. Highlighting the year was the presentation of a Talent Show to raise money for the Student Activity Fund, Char- acter Emphasis Week in December, and the Teens Against Polio drive in January. 755 52 Student Council Sponsor, MR.
