H OMECOMIN G HEA T SacriHce the Pound Puppies! was a cry heard through the parking lot dur- ing the Homecoming bonHre. It seemed appropriate since we played the Bull- dogs and our theme was A'The Day the Dogs Died . The lighter fluid was sprin- kled, the torches were lit, and the Hrst bulldog went up in the Ere 's uproar. Peo- ple wanted to sacralice the police car, but they controlled their urges. Marsh- mallows and hot dogs were roasted on sticks, and Ere crackers exploded in the midst of the festivities. 1987 was the first homecoming in ages that we were allowed such an activity, and StuC0 went through hell and high water to al- low it to take place . . . but hey, did we pull it off or what? There was some ma- jor hyperactivity in the air as the flame blazed. As the crowd dwindled, so did the flame: a baby campiire was all that remained in the lonely parking lot as the last car faded into the moonlight. . . We use the Bud! System The bonHre in a bottle.
