Yell Club Has New ponsor Cheerleaders and Yell Club members have been very busy this year. Their ofhcers are president, Shari Schmidt, vice president, Carla Fordyce, secretary, Renae Schneider, and Treasurer, Sandy Sexton. Some of the fund raising activities they were in- volved in were the cheese and sausage sale, making corsages for homecoming, and a bake sale. Yell Club sponsored the first annual Winterfest. This is a homecoming for the winter sports and ath- letes. During this time the Yell Club decorated the lockers and halls. They also dyed pillow cases for the athletes to sleep on for good luck. They also sponsored the spring ball. The cheerleaders and Pom Pon Girls ha ve attended many Welco meeting and clinics. Their activities con- sisted of poster making, decorating the boys' locker room, baking cookies and planning pep assemblies. DB7 Speech Team Takes Welco C.. Sandy Sexton works to perfect her speech for the district meet. For the second year in a row the Windsor Speech Team swept most of the events and took Hrs! place at the Welco League Speech Meet. They had somebody place at every meet and sent three to state. The three state quaIiHers were Steve Hettinger, Boyce Bennett, and Darrel Schraeder and Steve Becker qualified for Nationals to be held in June. Darrel qualified in hu- mor and Steve qualified in debate. With new and old members there were twenty people on the team this year. Coach Pete Denzin contributed a lot of time and helped the team tremendously. E U. FILE State qualifiers were Steve Hettinger, Boyce Bennett. and Darrel Schraeder.
