Seven Qualify For State This year's Boys' Track Team consisted of thirty track members, which is the largest group to come out in seven or eight years. Coach Harsin spoke very highly of his team, I 'm extremely pleased, we prob- ably showed the most potential and the best balance than any other team in the past, he commented. The leading scorer of the team this year was Larry Rutz. He also took seventh in the 440 at State. The most im- proved members of the team were 5teve Lind. Teo Lopez and Colin Morey. As for next year? Coach feels the team has a very good potential and could be a very good track team. He said they may not be out- standing but they can be very good.

Girls Tie For Third The Girls' Track Team did a tremendous job this year. The girls took third at State and Hnished Hrs! or second in every one of the meets during the season. Coach Cole 's Philosophy is, to get the team mem- bers in the best shape possible to compete, and to set an atmosphere that is fun as well as knowing there is a time to work: also to try to have the girls set goals and hopefully meet them during the season. Coach feels that the whole team deserves the most im- proved position. because everyone improved their techniques and times throughout the season. As for the most valuable player and the most point contri- buter. this honor dehnitely goes to Michelle Kruger for her tremendous efforts and outstanding accom- plishments. Even though the team won 't have the benems of this year's seniors, Coach hopes to get some promising freshmen and she feels that the mem- bers that were on the team this year ha ve very good possibilities for next year.
