Wizards Take Fifth At Tournaments L The girls' L basketball team did a great job of rebuilding themselves this year. Coach Marsha Raymond led the girls to a I I-8 overall record for the yeatz l think the team did a tremendous fob, she commented. This year's starters were Tammy Buxmann, Chris Gersic, Andrea Lind, Sandy Schlagel, Lori Rutz, and Laura Trettenero. The most improved players were 5andy Schlagel and Mary Brown, and holding the position of the most valuable player was Andrea Lind. An- drea ended her 4 years as a basketball player holding school records in every category except febounding and assists. The team goals for the year were to improve defense, ha ve good sports- manship, place Hrst or second at the sub-district tournament, be undefeated in league play. and to hold the opponents under 37 points each game. Coach Raymonds philosophy is, To help each individual in skill and social skills, and this philosophy helped guide the team to a Hfth place finish at the tournaments. l feel for this team that this was an accomplishment and that we came back and beat some teams that we had lost to during the regular season, commented the Coach. Next year a strong team is foreseen. We can only go up. so hopefully we 'll im- prove.
