New Stadium After playing the Hrs! home game of the l 979 sea- son at Sabin Field, the Wizards began an era of foot- ball in the new high school stadium. A one month delay, caused by the loss of the stadium light poles during shipment, didn 't cause the excitement to fade. The first pep assembly after the stadium opened had the theme, We're expecting a victory in the new stadium. The cheerleaders wore diapers and passed out candy cigars. The new stadium has cut down on parking prob- lems during the games because of the high school parking lot. Construction of the bleachers began in the spring of I 979 and was completed in late Septem- ber. The stadium seems to have brought luck to the Wizards, as they finished the season with a 6-3 win- loss record. .QQ Anxious crowd awaits for the spirited pep assembly to begin at the new stadium Band prepares to play for the Homecoming festivities.
