The 2009 Vestigia is dedicated to... . Alexander Alex has served as a member of the 212th Engineering Installation Squadron for 19 years. He manages and conducts the safety programs and plans, organizes, directs and controls safety activities for each of the l25 individuals in his unit. His travels include Korea, Turkey, Germany, Jamaica, France, Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Canada, Panama, Costa Rica, and Hawaii. 2 A dedicated teacher, coach, and mentor. Alex wears many hats at the Winchendon School- Dean of Community Life, Director of Fine Arts, and the Director of Student Activities. He is a member of the Association for Supervision of Curriculum Development CASCDJ and also serves on the Advisory Board of the Mount Wachusett Community College Art Department. Those who know him best love him for his kind heart and social nature. Alex joined the Massachusetts Air National Guard 212th Engineering Installation Squadron in 1989. He then went on to receive his Bachelors of Science in 1995 from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Arts and Painting and Art History. He found his Way to the Winchendon School in 1998 and in his early years as an educator realized his true passion for a life dedicated to education. 5 blk... 'M

Stanford Magay Alex was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and raised in Northborough and Sterling Massachusetts. Alex would say the biggest influences in his life have been his father Jim who taught him the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and being kind to others, his mother Eddi who taught him how to set 84 achieve goals, what hard Work means and how to be creative, and Mr. Ron Burton, his mentor in high school and a former member of The New England Patriots. Mr. Burton ran a summer camp Alex attended during high school summer vacations. Mr. Burton taught him how to build his self-esteem and help others do the same, the importance of Humility, Patience, Peace, Harmony, Respect and Love for Gthers. Alex lives by these morals and values day in and day out, everyday of his life. He lives with his wife Raman Kaur Magay: a second grade teacher in Amherst, Massachusetts, their orange and white tiger striped cat George, and their 4 international home-stay students in a country farm style home, The Ponderosa, at the bottom of the hill. l 3
