DEDICATIO Three years ago, Daniel Driscoll IV came here to take over the hockey team. Since then, he has had a profound impact on so many, not only as a hockey coach, but also as a friend, role model, and father figure. Mr. Driscoll graduated from the University of Connecticut in l99l, and went to Europe to play hockey for two years. He has been happily married to his wife Dorothy for five years and has three children, Anna, Dan, and, their newest, Mark. By applying his personal brand of coaching, Mr. Driscoll made our already good hockey team even better. Looking back his most memorable moments as coach were Winning the 1997 Prep School Championship in his first year here and the big win over Holderness at the Barber Tournament. Through his enthusiasm for teaching and coaching, and his faith in the students here, he's proven he deserves this honor and our admiration for his countless hours of service. That's why the class of 1999 has voted to dedicate this yearls Vestigia to Mr. Daniel Driscoll IV. -Written by Peter Lint '99

The Winchendon School Ash Street, Winchendon, Massachusetts 01475 Te1ephone:508-297-1223 Fax: 508-297-0911 j.Wil1iam LaBel1e Headmaster September 24, 1998 Dear Members of the Class of 1999, This is a year of great progress for Winchendon. When you come back as alumnilae, to show your children and grandchildren where you went to school, you will be able to tell them that you were here when the new Dining Hall and Student Center were started. You will also be able to tell them that you watched the state of the art wireless computer network being installed! All of this has become possible because of dedicated efforts by many who have come before you. Some are Trustees who have helped to guide the progress and have been instrumental in leading the way. There have been no spectacular major boosts! The progress here has been the result of steady, consistent, hard work and therein lies my message to you. Steady, consistent, tireless effort is what has been at the root of most successes in America. Edison's genius, as he said, was 9Otk perspiration and 1029 inspiration . Don't count on the big one to come along. Dig into what you are doing with diligence and commitment. Don't give upl Whatever you are doing, stay at it, day in and day out! That, in my view, is the key to making progress. Come back to see us. Share your successes gyour disappointments with us. Do your best. We will be here for you! On behalf of the faculty, Mrs. LaBeIle and I wish you great happiness and continued progress. incerel K . 17' j fflldaaee J. William LaBelle HEADMASTER
