The honor ofthe dedication ofthe Vestigia should be given to one who himself has been dedicated to The Winchendon School. Keith Otto is perhaps the best example of such a person. ln his 17 years of sewice, he has given nothing less than 1OO0!0 to the students, staff, faculty, and administration of The Winchendon School. There is no higher honor that a man may receive than the recognition of another's faith in him. Therefore, the Senior Class offers the 1987 Vestigia as a dedication to Mr. Keith Otto, not only as recognition of our faith in him, but also in appreciation of his faith in us. Year after year K.O. returns, and in his faith, we can find faith. Keith Otto has the kind of warmth and wisdom that is vital to our environment, and for his dedication, we are eternally grateful. I've always been more inter- ested in what goes on undemeath bridges. There is a battle, as I see it, between good and evil and I think you've got to find your place in that. It may be on the streets or behind a desk. When you're there, when you are where you should be and you know it in your heart, that is when you're involved. This morn- ing I fell out of bed when I woke up to do what he said, Maybe it's crazy, but I'm too lazy to lie and what am I to do? What am I supposed to say? Looking back I see that at that time I knew very little. Experience is the greatest teacher that ever will be. Sure, academic knowledge is important, but what I am referring to is much deeper. It is an understanding ofhow life works, and an understanding ofone's self. I know today, things I never dreamed of yesterday, and I have come to realize that what I know today does not begin to touch on what I will discover tomorrow. Me and Sarah Jane, in silence, walked along the shore, tears ofjoy and our new laugh- ter, words lost in the wind.
