Among the most treasured memories of your life will be the vear just past. Vestigia - your own personal historical document - will remind you of that year and of the incontrovertible fact that we'll be here if you need us.

For the moment, the images brought forth by the photographs are clear and sharp. After all, it is this year's book and your memory hardly needs much to jog it. But Vestigia 1979 also is a historical document of a particular year of your lives - a year never to be relived, a year forever past. You will look at it again - in l983, in 20l2, and - yes - even in 2040 when, if you've been lucky and if you and God have been on the same side, you will have attained the same age that Mr. O'Neill has this spring.
