We'll look back knowingly Upon ourselves as first we entered here. Thy portals, Alma Mater, welcomed gladly. We were untried, unproven 5 hopes and fears We'll realize, half-joyfully, half-sadly. CANTO I Four years ago, the old refrain is told. I-low wonderful life seemed to us, Who were so young, who felt so old. We tested all that college life could hold, Those Hrst strange days at Wilson. Proud we were of our colors, green and white, Entrusted to us solemnly one night, We fought for them, and loved with all our might, That hrst glad year at Wilson, CANTO I I A second jolly year rolled round apace. The well-loved green and white was in the race, Tho' at times outrun, she kept the pace, ln those dear old days at Wilson. Our sister class of Twenty, loved so well, Cheered us along, with song and pealing bell. We found our hardest task, to say farewell, When they left us there at Wilson. 7-7

'llf ll CANTO III juniors ! with soberer tasks to be done, A harder stretch of the race to be run, But we played and we sang, and we had our fun. 'Twas a happy year at Wilson. We planned and we worked, Endowment to raise. For some things we merited blame, for some, praise. There was Prom to enjoy, those were merry days We spent at dear old Wilson. CANTO IV Serious our faces when first we wore The stately gowns of learning. In our eyes before It meant an ending journey, a glimpse of shore, When Seniors wore their caps and gowns at Wilson. Ah! well! a glimpse-but the goal not gained, Until under heavier tasks we were trainedg But with constant effort, the prize we attained, That last great year at Wilson. EPILOGUE Four years of work and play-and now Life faces us. We answer her call gladly. These four swift years, thou hast prepared us here, And should we face life sadly?
