A lot of girls dedicated their free time to this sport. The 7th grade softball team had a great season, Coach Anna Ayala said. They were responsi- ble energetic girlsl The team consisted of 43 hard working 7th grade girls. Their hard work paid off with wins over Connolly, Mes- quite, and Apache Junction. The 8th grade girls team also had a good turnout. Kim Miley was the outstanding offensive player and the top scorer. Mi- chelle Clamput was the out- standing defensive player, ac- cording to Coach Trish Clinch. The most improved players were Susan Reed and Claire Ownby. They had wins over Gilbert and Chandler Junior. The Oth grade girls also worked hard. The team started with 47 players but ended with only 40. lvlr. Terry Felicetti, the new coach, said, 'll appreciated the girls who stuck with it during the whole season even though it was not successful. The team had a 4-45 season with a win of 42-7 over McClintock. 44
