The club co-sponsored a dance wiTh The FuTure Business Leaders of America and They have sold suckers To raise money for soffware, a copy machine, or maybe a compuTer. Mr. Paul Bollord has been head of The FuTure Business Leaders of America for Two years now. Their acTiviTies included running The popcorn sTand aT The home fooT- ball games and sponsoring The second dance of The year. The purpose for The FBLA is To Try and help sTudenTs learn more abouT The business world. The presidenT was Jessie Ra- mos, The vice presidenT was Shel- laine Vespender, and The secre- Tary-Treasurer was Allison PeThik. A school newspaper, The Fire- bird Free Press was organized by Mrs. Nancy Nichols and Mrs. BeTTy CasTro. STaff members puT ouT a school newspaper every Two or Three monThs. Co-ediTor Tigress Osborne said, 'il Think we did a really good job considering iT's The firsT newspa- per we've had aT Willis in a long Time. The oTher co-ediTor was Mary McLaughlin and The secre- Tary was Suma MaThai. The PublicaTions sTaff was in charge of The Phoenix, The school yearbook. STaff members had To learn wriTing and design skills as well as how To use a camera. The goal of The sTaff was To make The yearbook differenT from The pasT and cdpTure The highlighTs of The year, according To The adviser, Mr. Larry Riggs.
