The REW Review. - Cross Country coach Roy White officiates the broad jump competition at the state meet. SPRING SPORTS When we started practice on March 3, the expectations were high, especially among the veterans. As we entered the early season meets, our hopes and goals began to look even more realistic. Winning the Dunbar meet showed us and all our supporters that we were a legitimate state contender, a power if you will. Winning the Belpre Shrine Relays and completing our dualftriangular schedule unbeaten were good ac- complishments, but we still had the big meets to win. The Gazettes marked our first loss, but we still felt like we were a great team. The LKC, Section, and Regional cham- pionships followed, setting the stage for the State Meet. We had won as a team all year, and as we practiced for the State, I knew a team effort would be needed to win. We qualified fourteen guys and ten of them scored in Charleston, which helped us to our second place finish. Looking back over the past three months, I have many emotions. Pride in what our team was able to do, sadness to see so many good guys graduate and leave WHS, but most important the realization that these wonderful days will live forever in my memory and I hope in your memories, too. The most important thing! about our track team was togletherness, that bond t at makes individuals a TEAM. hank you for these wonderful weeks of the 1986 track season. Coach Jack Jones WILI-IISHAN 45
