LEARNING WITH CLASS Classes - the basic framework of the educational system at WHS - are the most prominent daytime activities. And well they should be, con- sidering the idea behind school is to learn. At times, it seems that academics is put on the back burner when put up against ex- tracurricular activities. How- ever, that trend appears to be shifting with awards being given for the outstanding math students and the Honor Roll bulletin boards. Teachers and students spend a considerable amount of time preparing for classes. The grades are important, and students want to make them count. Overtime Mrs Randy Garrett works on lesson plans dunng her planning period. 22 LEARNING WITH CLASS I EY Tunes. Senior high choir practices during their class period

They come in a varie- ty of sizes and colors, with various storage capabilities. 25 percent of those people surveyed owned a home computer - the most common being the Commodore 64. Students cite the organization and word processing skills of the com- puter as the main reasons for owning and using a computer for homework help. Over 90 percent of those asked reported using the computer at least once in the past five years. As com- puters become more common, com- puter skills will become more impor- tant to most people. Students who were surveyed recommended that if one hadn't taken a computer class, then he should hurry - the class becomes more in demand each year! WILHISHAN 2 1
